Rahiraas (Rehraas)

RAHIRAAS (Rehraas)

Rahiraas (raahraas) is a Persian word; it means: ‘the right path’.

Some writers have defined it as ‘principal amount’ (investment), which is incorrect.

Rahiraas is the evening prayer of the Sikhs. It consists of hymns composed by Guru Nanak Sahib, Guru Amar Das Sahib, Guru Ram Das Sahib and Guru Arjan Sahib.

The main theme of this Rahiraas baani is the praise of God.

For meanings, please visit ‘Sikh Scripture’ on this website and read pp. 8 to 12 of Guru Granth Sahib (available in English and Punjabi).
