IND/ INDER/ INDRA
Indra is a mythical ‘god. He is also known as the ruler (lord) of the mythical ‘heaven’. As a person, he is lustful, conspirator and jealous. He loves to drink somras (alcohol). Several instances of his acts of adultery can be found in the Hindu literature.
In one of such instances, when he seduced Ahlaya, the wife of Gautama, he was cursed and was inflicted with a thousand signs of female vaginas on his body. He is also known as rival to the mythical Hindu king-god Krishna, who stole his (Inder’s) mythical Paarjaat tree known for its (tree’s) mystical power, for his (Krishana’s) mistress.
Both these stories have been mentioned in Guru Granth Sahib, at pages 470, 710, 988, 1343.
