CHHATTIH AMRIT, CHHATTIH PADARATH
Chhattih (36) Amrit, Chhattih Padarath means food of thirty-six types. The figure 36 has been taken from the ancient books that there are 4 Ages and 36 Yugas (9 parts of each of the 4 Ages). Hence, Chhatih Amrit means the food of the taste of 36 (i.e. all the) Ages (i.e. every type of food).
In old days, girls were taught the art of cooking at least 36 dishes so that she might use the same after her marriage.
