BAANI
Baani literally means: sound, language, speech etc. In the Sikh context, it means the hymns in Guru Granth Sahib. According to Sikhism, the Sikh Scripture are direct revelation. The respect shown to Guru Granth Sahib is not the worship of an object, but it is the respect of the Word contained in it. Also see: Gurbaani.
